How
could you not love this face? Well a few could I suppose because on a
cold October evening Kathy and I drove to the Burger King in
Blountville to meet the owners of this lovable dog.She was nearly 4 months old when we met her and I guess because she doesn't have the clear boxer markings on her face all of her brothers and sisters except one had already been sold to new owners. From the very first time we saw her it was evident to Kathy and I that she would be a kind and loving dog. She took up with me immediately and sat next to me the whole time we were talking to the sellers about boxers and such. Actually it was a Cinny's good fortune that we chose her because as we found out a couple of years later she would be plaqued with bacteria and infections in hers ears and toes throughout her adult life. No doubt most people would have given up on her hearing the news that it was incurable so early in a dog's life. To us however that was all the more reason to love her as much as we could so that she would get a decent shot at life even though it would never be totally normal. Most people that met her were afraid of her because of her size and the intimidating look boxers have in general. But anyone who got to know her knew her for the lovable baby she was. In the whole time we had her she never bit anyone or even actually attempted it either. Once when she was 2 years old she sort of mouthed me for smacking her on the butt with my belt for tearing up her 2nd couch. She knew it was wrong to bite me I guess is why she changed her mind on getting even with me for spanking her butt. Cinny
was a very special member of our little family. She was the most loving
and trusting dog you'd ever want to meet. She welcomed all visitors to
her home with either a wagging tail, a toy, or one of her special elbow
kisses. If you missed out on any of these it was your loss as is ours
now to never get another one of these friendly greetings again.Kathy and I were priviledged enough to have spent the last 11 almost 12 years with her. She had a lot of qualities of life that a lot of humans lack. Everyone could have learn a lot from her as she took pleasure in everyday meanial tasks such as helping me take out the garbage was always one of her favorite activities. I won't bore you with a bunch of details throughout those 11 years. I just wanted to put up this page in tribute to a one of the greatest dogs I've ever owned. To tell the truth I've never loved any animal more than I loved her. She definately embedded herself into mine and Kathy's hearts. She will be missed and remembered for the rest of our lives. Good bye Belle dog. We hope to see you again someday. Thanks for all of your support and prayers for her. Rick and Kathy Roberts |
